As I was standing at the Virgin Records Music Station weighing my options of what Fall Out Boy record to by either Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend or Take This To Your Gave and checking the backs of each of them as I was listing to the thirty seconds I turned around looking at both of them thinking that I would like both but I only have enough for one I look up to think my options thru and there stands a short kids with a hat on strait with chops and a jacket on. As I was still review what record I wanted to buy the kid turned just the right angle to let me see that it was not a kid but Patrick Stumps, the voice I am hearing in my ears is standing a few feet away from me. He was picking out Nintendo games (since they are on the Nintendo Fusion Tour 2005) with a few other guys I didn't know. I decided to get Fall Out Boys first EP since I love knowing the roots of bands and where they started I took the head phones off, replaced them back on the hook and turned around and had to make a fast decision on how I was going to handle this opportunity. There is always the screaming fan that makes the artist want to just give them a hug and tell them to get the hell away from them or there are other people (like me) who know that they are just normal people like you and I, but have just had have the talent and in the right place and the right time to become something of a icon. As I was standing there he looks over at me, looks at the record I am holding, smiles and returns back to his selecting games. "Hello, you are the lead singer for Fall Out Boy... Patrick, right?!" I said without sounding to excited. The three guys with him stopped and looked me over very fast to see if I was going to attack him. "Yes, I am and you are..." I stuck my hand out and said "Nicholas, it's very nice to meet you, I really enjoy your tunes." He smiles and told me that the record I had chosen was not good and that I would do better with this as he hands me "Say It Like You Mean It" by The Starting Line, before I could think of that I was saying I said "Oh, I have that one already.." He looks at me and says "Well then, sounds like you have good taste." Looks back at my Fall Out Boy selection and says, "well.. then there is that!" I asked him what he was talking about and he told me that they, Fall Out Boy, were very young and not at the top of there game on that record and that if I wanted to hear what they really sound like I should get Take This To Your Grave. I told him that I wanted to but only hand one and that I wanted to hear them when they were just starting out and still getting to there "A" game. He smiled and I smiled back and we talked a few more minutes about other bands that I was into and other bands that he knew of that I love now.. It is sad to see bands you have grown to love fallout but I was really getting sick of Pete Wentz and his whole "Emo" look. Love this band!
