Wednesday Review

For the first week of my reviews I am going to be reviewing a movie that has been nominated for a Oscar for Best Feature Documentary and winner of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.

“The Cove” starts out in Taijii, Japan and Ric O’Barry, a group off activists in a van driving thru Taijii being followed by the local police. Ric o' Barry was the lead dolphin trainer of the 1960's show "Flipper" is the head man of this party trying to find uncover the full truth of this cove that is very off limits to any and everyone except police and the fishermen that work there. Louie Psihoyos directs this film and its very James Bond feel with them sneaking into the cove with rock cameras and underwater audio mic to get a glimpse of what is going on. I really loved the ending of this movie it's kinda obvious that they get what they came for, but I didn't see it coming at all what he does with the information once he gets it, but I should have since Mr. Berry has been arrested so many times before for freeing dolphins. Warning: This is a graphic movie and shows the killing of animals.

Summation: 5/5 not just because I love documentaries, but because this is a important film to see and to be aware of the atrocities that are going on around the world.
