Wednesday Random Review

This week Wednesday Random Review is just that... Random. Nicholas Jerry Jonas from The Jonas Brothers has broken away (not really) from his band to do a solo project not his first a tempt either, in 2006 he released a solo record that was self titled. So what I need you to do it chuck everything you think you know about The Jonas Brothers out the window.

Since I mostly like rap/rock/metal/electronica and not so much the "Tween" music type (Joan Bros., Hannah Montana, etc) I though to myself that this is going to be hard but once I started to look into Mr. Jonas's music past he has some skills. Jonas's career started when he was six years old when he was discovered singing in a barbershop where his mother was getting her hair done. He has stared on Broadway in over five shows so we know this boy can sing. I have listened to Nick Jonas and The Administration record "Who I Am" I am going to say that its a very radio (Disney) friendly record, but that does not mean that I didn't enjoy it. I am not going to say what tracks I like the most because they are all good in there own way, some feel like they are a super long track because some of them sound the same. There are a few times I can hear him trying to be like John Mayer/Justin Timberlake and there are people out there who have said that Mr. Jonas is going to be the next Mayer. I am not a huge fan of Mayer's newer work but I am not going to be one of them, yes, he has talent going for him going from Rock to Blues to Ballads and back with a voice that can do both very well. "I had written five or six songs that were on my heart, things that were just pouring out of me with this new exciting sound" says Jonas, 17 "They weren't necessarily right for the Jonas Brothers, but i thought they could be perfect for something else" Amazingly Nick wrote six songs (lyrics I am guessing) with this own pen..

Summation: Shockingly to you (and me) I am giving this 4/5 not because I have been drawn in by his voice and I am a super fan now, but because I have to give it up to Nicholas Jerry Jonas for not sticking to the same old plastic crap music that most of the "Tween" artist stick to too sell records.
