So it begins....

My son who is four found a VHS copy of "Finding Nemo" in the shelf and the conversation went as followed.

Nicco: Dad, what's this?

Me: It's a VHS tape of Finding Nemo

*Nicco opens the box*

Nicco: Where is the DVD?

Me: It's a tape, DVD's are new and tapes are what I had when I was growing up. 

*I push the two buttons on the side to show the tape*

Me:  See when the video was recorded it was put on the tape and when the tape is in the VCR the tape spins and the film is put on the TV.

Nicco: Where is the DVD dad, where did you put it?!

Me: Nowhere, this is a tape, not a DVD, this is what I used to watch when I was your age.

*Blank Stare*

So after that I just decided to put the tape in the VHS player that is in the TV so they could watch it..

90 minutes later this happened..

Nicco: Dad!!!!  I need you!!!!

*Running into the room*

Me: What's the matter, are you ok?

Nicco: It's not working!!

*Looking as Nicco is pushing the dvd player buttons*

Me: No, dude, it's a tape, not a DVD, we just talked about this!

Nicco: Yes, but dad, it's not working!!!!

Me: It's not working because it's not in there, it's a tape, not a DVD... 

*Ejects the tape*

Me: See how all the tape is on one side of the spool, all the film is over here, we need to put it back into the tape player and rewind it.

*Put's tape back in and starts rewinding it*

Nicco: Dad.... WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?!?!

Me: I am rewinding it, like I just said..

Nicco: WHAT?!?!?  STOP IT YOU ARE GOING TO BREAK IT!!!!!

Me: Nicco, are you wanting to watch it again?

Nicco: Yes, but you are breaking it!

*Shakes head*
