So when I heard that Barbie was getting a tattoo (middle) added to the iconic woman I was really waiting to see who would freak out, because in stead of freaking out that they, Mattel, are making a standard of what they think a woman "should" look like, they are freaking out because of a tattoo, that, in my opinion, is fine and dandy and will not make you have major health risks for your life. (That is unless you get one at a shoddy tattoo parlor that is not changing there needles after every used.)
In short, I don't care if Mattel makes a Barbie with tattoos or no tattoos, but I DO think that Mattel needs to understand that they could be really messing up little girls point of views of what a woman "should look like" besdies "what THEY look like". My daughter has a hand that is smaller then the other because of a complication inside the womb and I know that there will be little (pardon my french) Assholes that will say things about her because she is not normal, but all I can tell her is that everyone one is made different, expect when it comes to the inside and everyone is made the same.
The Barbie to the right can be bought here.
