Don't get me wrong about this post. I love Jesus, he is my savior, redeemer and the rock that I stand upon, but when you toss 5 or 6 guys who love metal and Jesus as much as I do, nothing can go wrong. I know people will read this and say to them self's "How can you feel the spirit when you are listing to music that is not inviting of the lord?" This is where it gets tricky. I love classical music and hymnals but they don't get me fired up to keep on the right track day to day and to be honest give Lucifer the bird.
I have talked to may people who have said that all metal is a hate and just sound and to them I will agree in some instances. Bands such as "Slipknot" don't have anything that is uplifting, but the "Christian Metal" bands such as As I Lay Dying, For Today, Norma Jean, The Chariot, We Came as Romans and Underoath have such heartfelt lyrics that you can just look adversity in the face and not have to feel like its a struggle.
This song below is by the first Christian Metal band that really spoke to me and got me looking for more music that has the same feelings a beliefs. I picked a video that has the lyrics so you you don't frequent this type of music can get the mean of the song.
Someone once told me that there is a vote everyday, Jesus votes for you but the devil votes against you and you have the deciding vote on how you live out that day. This style of music is in your face and works for me to keep myself on the path back to Christ.
