Hayao Miyazaki



Hayao Miyazaki (left) is an amazing director, screen writer and animator who has been at it since 1963 and has caught the eye of John Lasseter who is behind the amazing PIXAR films and helped with the English version of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid called Ponyo.

I love Miyazaki's films because they are all so colorful and the detail is phenomenal.  In all his work he has had something to do with over 30 films including 9 feature films including Ponyo, My Neighbor Totoro, and my two favorites Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away.

I believe that as adults we have forgotten how to enjoy the simplicity of films and have to have twists and turns all the time... maybe we all have A.D.D.

P.S.  If you have kids I would think of getting Totoro or Ponyo, my kids 2-3 love them and they are awesome to watch as an adult!
